Ecliptic DS is a rapidly growing company in Cyprus, which specializes in RF and Microwave technologies as these are applied in Telecommunication Satellites, radars, data links and Electronic Warfare applications, utilised in a variety of sectors including space, aerospace, defence and border security. The business is well poised to continue expanding within a very fast paced space and defence industry. 


We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated  Mechanical  Engineer and Materials Specialist to join our team in designing, analyzing, and testing advanced hardware for space and defence applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of innovative space and defence solutions in a dynamic environment, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance under demanding conditions. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components  and assemblies using CAD and perform tolerance analysis
  • Select materials and  manufacturing processes to achieve manufacturability goals.
  • Conduct structural, thermal,  and dynamic analysis with FEA tools on component, subsystem and system-level designs to ensure compliance with mission and performance requirements
  • Coordinate the assembly and  integration of mechanical subsystems into space and defence platforms.
  • Plan and execute prototype  testing, including vibration, shock and other environmental tests
  • Develop and execute integration and verification plans, including testing protocols and  troubleshooting procedures
  • Document test results, findings,  and recommendations for future projects
  • Collaborate with  cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility between mechanical,  electrical and software systems and document designs and procedures
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements for space and defence applications


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD (e.g. Inventor,  SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS)
  • Very good  knowledge of material properties, manufacturing, and industry standards (e.g. ESA, NASA, MIL-STD)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work and collaborate within a diverse team environment  


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace/defence  experience and familiarity with environmental testing and thermal  management
  • Hands-on experience in  testing and validation of aerospace or defence hardware

We are currently looking for RF/ Microwave Engineers to work at the forefront of a wide range of RF and Microwave technologies. This presents a great opportunity for the right candidates to join a team dedicated to designing and building novel solutions for the space and defence industries. 


As an RF/ Microwave Engineer you will be trained to develop a wide range of RF/ Microwave Designs, ranging from the component-level up to system-level, using the latest available technologies.  Additionally, you will boost your understanding of key design and manufacturing processes. You will play an integral role in taking the company to the next level. If successful, you will be responsible for pioneering and developing new technology, as well as undertaking all design activities as well as associated engineering tasks.


You will be trained to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team, demonstrating a strong understanding and commitment to achieving project goals. You should also be capable of conducting technical investigations, assessing problems, and proposing design solutions within a culture that encourages innovative thinking.


Ecliptic DS team shares a common goal: delivering product design solutions that meet the customers’ requirements within the agreed schedule and cost. Your contribution will instrumental in meeting the expectations of both Ecliptic DS and the end-customer. The current and upcoming project developments will offer you the opportunity to work with a specialised team in developing and managing technically challenging technologies for two of the most demanding sectors: defence and space.  


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 The ideal candidate should possess Bachelor or Master’s level Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering and experience in many of the areas listed below.


· Experience of Microwave RF, analogue and digital circuit design skills

· Experience with RF test equipment (VNA, Spectrum/Signal Analyzer) and measurement techniques

· Power Amplifier / LNA, PLL and frequency conversion design knowledge

· RF circuit and electromagnetic modelling and simulation (e.g CST, Microwave Office) skills

· Schematic capture and PCB layout skills

· Experience with RF beamforming techniques

· Understanding of RF / microwave systems

· Understanding of waveform design and implementation

· Experience of system level RF modelling (VSS), including Modulation and Coding

· Preferably you will also have radar system knowledge although this isn't essential

· Experience of overseeing the transition of development hardware into production, including environmental testing, qualification testing and design certification

· Experienced proving system level functionality, SW/FW integration and proving will be viewed preferably

· Familiarity of real-time digital signal processing for high data bandwidth systems

· Good communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations to external customers

· Participate in design reviews for all stages of concept development to the assessment of design maturity

· Experience of working in hi-rel design environment (aerospace, space, defence or similar) will be greatly advantageous

· Understanding of Space Industry including relevant standards and requirements (ECSS etc)

We are looking for Assembly/ Test Technicians to join our team and assemble parts/ components and systems for new space and defence products according to specifications and drawings. 


Responsibilities:

  • Assembling mechanical and electrical components to build components/ subsystems and systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Install electrical and electronic parts and  hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools
  • Conducting visual inspections of components and completed systems to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production data, testing results, and other reports related to the assembly process.
  • Collaborating  with other departments such as engineering, quality control, and production to ensure efficient assembly processes.
  • Making recommendations for improvements to the assembly process to increase efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Following  safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.


Requirements and skills:

  • Desired work experience as an Assembly Technician or similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Good eye-hand coordination to construct small parts and pieces into a final product
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, and related training preferred
